Faculty of Bolan Medical College, Balochistan, Visits Khyber Medical University
A delegation of faculty members from Bolan Medical College, Balochistan, visited Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, to learn from KMU’s experience in integrating Nutrition content into the MBBS and BDS curricula under the UNICEF-supported initiative for curriculum updating and harmonization.
The meeting was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli, Vice Chancellor, KMU. Faculty members from the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS), KMU, and representatives of UNICEF also participated in the meeting.
The delegation was briefed on KMU’s approach and experience in strengthening Nutrition education within medical and dental curricula. The discussions focused on curriculum integration, harmonization, and effective incorporation of essential Nutrition competencies into undergraduate medical and dental education.
Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli welcomed the visiting faculty and emphasized the importance of strengthening Nutrition education in medical and dental training to enhance the capacity of future healthcare professionals to address nutrition-related health challenges.
The visiting faculty appreciated KMU’s efforts and expressed their interest in benefiting from the University’s experience and practices in curriculum development and implementation.
The meeting provided an opportunity for academic collaboration and exchange of experiences among KMU, Bolan Medical College, and UNICEF, with a shared objective of further strengthening Nutrition education in undergraduate medical and dental curricula.
