Ms. Kiran Konain

About

Biography

Ms. Kiran Konain joined Khyber Medical University (KMU) in 2018 as an M.Phil scholar in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Khyber Medical University. During her M.Phil studies, she worked in the field of cancer genetics and developed practical research skills, particularly in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. She successfully completed her M.Phil in 2021 and was awarded a Gold Medal in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

During her academic journey, she also served as an Assistant Professor in the discipline of Medical Laboratory Technology for one year, where she contributed to teaching, student mentoring, and academic development. In 2022, she joined the Ph.D. program at KMU, where she continued to strengthen her research expertise with a focus on tissue repair, biomaterials, and natural product-based therapeutic approaches.

Currently, she is serving as a Lecturer and is actively engaged in research related to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Her research interests focus on exploring natural remedies as potential therapeutic agents for cancer treatment and regenerative applications. She is especially interested in understanding how bioactive compounds from natural sources can support cellular repair mechanisms and contribute to the development of improved therapeutic strategies for human health.
