Dr. Wafa Naeem

About

Biography

Dr. Wafa Naeem is a molecular geneticist whose research focuses on cancer genomics, molecular oncology, bioinformatics, precision medicine, and translational cancer research. Her work integrates next generation sequencing (NGS), computational biology, and molecular genetics to identify genomic alterations associated with cancer and translate these findings into clinically relevant biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

She has been actively involved in the Pak-UK Oral Cancer Research Consortium (POCRC) and has collaborated with researchers at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, on genomic studies of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC). Her research has contributed to advancing the understanding of the molecular landscape of oral cancer in the Pakistani population through whole exome sequencing and integrative bioinformatics analyses.

Dr. Wafa Naeem has authored several peer reviewed research articles in international journals, with publications spanning cancer genetics, molecular biology, genomics, and computational biology. As a faculty member at Khyber Medical University, she is committed to promoting high quality research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the training of future scientists in molecular and biomedical sciences.
