Biography

Dr. Roshan Ali is a distinguished academician, researcher, and institutional leader serving as an Associate Professor on the Tenure Track System (TTS) at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS), Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar. Dr. Ali’s long-standing dedication to KMU began in 2011, when he joined the faculty immediately after completing his PhD from the University of Peshawar. His doctoral journey included a prestigious research tenure at Penn State University, USA, bringing an international standard of academic rigor and advanced methodologies to his roles.

Throughout his career at KMU, Dr. Ali has been a cornerstone of institutional growth and academic development. He successfully completed a high-impact research project funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and has played a pivotal role in expanding KMU's academic landscape, having actively contributed to establishing two departments and launching two major academic programs. Furthermore, he has designed three foundational courses for MPhil and PhD curricula, significantly shaping the postgraduate educational framework at the university.

In addition to his faculty duties, Dr. Ali is an experienced administrator, notably serving with distinction for four years as the Director of the Khyber Medical University Institute of Health Sciences (KMU-IHS), Kurram, where he managed institutional affairs and expanded regional access to quality education.

Dr. Ali leads a highly active and productive research profile, boasting over 50 published research articles in reputable, HEC-recognized scientific journals. His expertise bridges computational data analysis with molecular biology, focusing on:

 Bioinformatics & Computational Biology: Utilizing advanced data science frameworks, including R programming, Biopython, DECIPHER, and primer3-py, for precise statistical data analysis, molecular docking, and genomic modeling.

 Research Grants: Successfully won and completed an HEC funded research project.

 Publication Record: Published 50+ research articles in peer reviewed scientific journals.

 Administrative Leadership: Served as the Director of KMU-IHS Kurram for four years, overseeing campus management, administrative operations, and academic expansion.
