Subsequent upon completion of the2nd floor of Academic Block, the Director P&D has through stringent efforts & team work ensured completion of the final floor of the Administration Block of KMU complex on Aug 15th 2012 . The P&D team has been pursuing all means possible under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor ,KMU  to ensure completion of the Administration Block followed by subsequent blocks & components of the KMU complex.

The Examination Department of KMU has achieved another milestone while bringing transparency in the examinations system by introducing a new system of practical examination, i.e. OSCE (Objectively structured Clinical Examination) in the recently conducted MBBS Final Year Annual Examination 2011.

Interview for Admission in M.Phil Leading to Ph.D Program and Direct Ph.D program was held on 17th July 2012 at KMU Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS).
For M.Phil Leading to Ph.D in Basic Medical Sciences, Sixty three (63) candidates were interviewed.
For Ph.D in Basic Medical Sciences, Thirteen (13) candidates were interviewed.

For the first time in the history of Pakistan, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar introduced Online Registration System for Education Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) Entrance Test for admission in medical / dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Test was held on 15th July 2012 simultaneously at Army Stadium Peshawar and Ayub Medical College Abbottabad. This System was a replacement for the manual system in which candidates or their parents used to wait in long queues for submission of Form in scorching heat of June and July.

KMU is one of the pioneers in launching MHPE program in Pakistan along with other universities in Pakistan. The MHPE Program is modular based including total of 06 contact sessions (each of 10 days duration) in the form of workshops and online assignments. The participants in this program are from different parts of the country like Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Lahore, Isb , Army and different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. MHPE Program has two batches, in 1st batch there are 20 students enrolled and in 22 students are enrolled in the 2nd batch.
